In May I decided to apply for graduate school at St. Edward's University. Me. The person who said I never wanted to go back to school. That an MBA wasn't for me and the cost of graduate school wasn't for me either.
Then I changed my mind. I applied for the program that deals with leadership -- the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Ethics.
My name is Michele.
Leadership and Ethics holds the potential to be personally transformative, according to the program director. He's been in charge of this program for many years and says he has never seen a cohort go through that didn't transform (each person, that is) in some way during the two year span.
So, this is M-Soul.
I plan to chronicle my own thoughts about leadership and ethics and how it might just transform me and my soul.
I told my class two weeks ago that I thought leadership was a spiritual endeavor -- not just some management concept. I don't know if anyone agreed with my thoughts on that one. It was difficult to admit that to people. They might not understand what I meant or think that I was starting to beat on my local Gideon's. (Fortunately for me, St. Ed's is a Catholic school.)
So, no. That's not it. This is not Bible Study 101.
But a good leader should inspire others and make them want to lead. That's a spiritual thing. It just is.
